Just landed a few minutes ago and I am waiting for my bro to pick me up. So glad I took this trip!
Crap! Didn’t mean to send just the question! To answer the question… Yes, I feel quite optimistic. While the judges seemed a little hard on Kilmer in the beginning, it wasn’t until we got to the Alameda attorney that things started to get fun and we realized that both parties were not to come through through without sufficient probing. In addition to the fact that Alameda had a...
OK, I finally got a question from someone!
Oh come on, no one has questions? I’m bored here and my flight leaves at 420 (considering that I am in San Francisco that is just kinds funny) so if anyone has comments of questions, send me a Calguns PM and I will respond on here! I don’t have net access so I can’t see the forum!
At the airport. Flight at 420.
Big picture
I write this as I am on the BART to go on my way home. The notes I am transcribing are those that I took while in the court room. This is being typed on my phone. 922am The court room is a gorgeous room. Cherubim (sp?), carved into and protruding out of the walls hold aloft various seals of justice and legal authority, seemingly bringing these revered (yet oft overturned) walls to life. Directly...
Just left the restaurant. Leaving with rkt88 to get to the BART. If you have questions, ask me! Send me a Calguns PM and I will answer them on my way down!
Just had a third of a Cobb salad, a third of a sandwich and a third of a spinach salad. I split my dish with Liberty1 and FS00008. Pretty good. Dessert is next. For all those curious, the waitresses are cute.
Texting is difficult due to marshalls. Alameda is up, Kilmer just argued. Alameda still quoting Presser and all old cases.
BTW, Don Kilmer did beautifully.
Alameda GETTING HAMMERED! Legislature can ban guns tomorrow based on her antiquated case law.
Voirt is adjourned!
Alameda is done!
Oh no, we had one shooting at the fairgrounds! 11 people, 4 of them children! What about shootings in office buildings? Gun show was not in place when the shooting happened. Gun shows in conjunction with other events did not cause problems. Open carry us allowed! Metal detectors to detect illegal concealed firearms. County has no problem with firearms carried for self defense. Alameda is screwed!
Govt acting as a property owner. People engage in activities made available by the government. Judge says this can apply to nearly any building…
What if fairground isn’t a sensitive place? Then we would have to declare ordinance null (judge question and statement) What is sensitive about a fairgrounds? Is every government property a sensitive place? Schools and govt buildings. Invitees who don’t know eachother, thus it is a sensitive place. Gun shows cause liability problems, look at fairground shooting that caused 11 liability...
Alameda says Heller does not guarantee guns! Judge is dragging her through the mud.
Brown document brought forth. Alameda in direct disagreement with Brown. Jushe made a joke about how he wouldn’t tell brown.
Alameda has serious foot in mouth. Just agreed that only dimwitted judges would not accept incorporation arguments.
Why isn’t this a summary judgement case? Apparently since guns aren’t posessed at a gun show for self defense then Heller doesn’t apply… Weird.
Why can’t we assume without deciding that the second amendment is incorporated? What would change? Alameda still floundering.
Cruikshank still alive? I think not!
These judges are floundering. More details later.
The court is filling up quickly and getting much louder with chatter.
Ben Cannon and Jason Davis are here now. Jason is directly in front of me and Cannon is two rows and two seats over.
Ivanimal, oaklander, gene and a few other calgunners are here. Cute clerks abound. Clerks are dropping off papers right now at the judge’s benches. Just identified Don Keats and Alan Gura. Don Keats is in short sleeves, apparently a ballsy move according to the cute attorney next to me (Angela)
Don Kilmer just walked in! Liberty1, The Quark and at least one other calgunner is here.
Just to let everyone know, I am sitting next to a cute lawyer named Angela. She is a bio major too ;)
Inside the courthouse now. Trial is in an hour. Perry Mason is such a lie, these courtrooms are nothing like those on TV!
Just parked. We are now looking for some quick breakfast before justice is served!
Testing out capabilities for nordyke.
